POSITION SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for greeting and welcoming all guest to the hotel and relieving guests of their luggage on arrival. You will ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times, and that all guest requests are dealt with in a prompt and courteous manner. In Addition to assisting guests with luggage, bellmen are also responsible for the collection and distribution of post and parcels. You will also deal with general enquiries and ensuring the lobby and forecourt areas are always clean and tidy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise.

• Recognize all returning and VIP guests and welcome them back. Escort all guests checking in to their accommodations following hotel procedure. Inform them about all hotel and guest room features. Assist guest with their luggage and acknowledge them by name.

• Make deliveries to guest room as instructed.

• Store and retrieve luggage and other objects for guests.

• Be aware of daily hotel activities, group and VIP arrivals. Communicate special guest requests to the Front Office Supervisor and or Front Office Manager

• Ensure the lobby, luggage room and work areas are well as department equipment are clean and presentable at all times.

• Offer assistance to all guests and provide them with information requested and directions, escorting the guest whenever possible.

• Responsible for all Bell Service activities such as luggage service upon guests; check-in and

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School/GED Diploma preferred.

Experience:

• Previous experience as a bellman preferred.

• Experience with hotel information systems preferred.

• Computer knowledge and experience in MS office programs preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing for long periods of time, walking, repetitive motions, grasping. Must be able to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
